Default Wales axe Jenkins after Cup exit

Gareth Jenkins has been sacked as Wales head coach after his side crashed out of the World Cup.
Jenkins was told of the Welsh Rugby Union's decision by chief executive Roger Lewis and chairman David Pickering at the team hotel on Sunday.

Lewis said: "No-one would deny the total commitment and passion that Gareth Jenkins has given to the cause.

"His desire for success has been tangible - you can taste it, you can smell it - but it was not to be."

Although his reign wasnt particularily successful, i think that that Fijian team would have beaten all the home nations, such physicality. Wales really are up and down, champions 2 years ago and now out of the WC in the group stage and finishing joint bottom of the 6 nations.

Gareth Jenkins was so naieve tactically throughtout his tenure as coach.I dont think the players were really with him from day one which is a real shame and certainly contributed to his demise as coach.

There is no doubt he deserved what he got and we need a clean break and restructuring of the magners league as our top players arent battle hardened for top class international rugby. In short the magners league is letting welsh rugby down, and the irish teams are a big problem because they arent fielding the top irish internationals. They are making a mockory of the set up.
