Samoa Defeat Lebanon To Secure Final World Cup Spot
Samoa completed the line-up for next year's World Cup with an impressive win over Lebanon in the last repechage game at Featherstone.
Lebanon never had a chance of clawing back a 28-8 half-time deficit, as Chris Vaegafa, Tangi Ropati, Nigel Vagana and Frank Puletua scored first-half tries.
Adham El-Zbaideh, Tom Joseph and Danny Chiha scored as Lebanon rallied in the second half but it was asking too much.
Further scores by Andreas Bauer and Hutch Maiava sealed a comfortable win.
Samoa now line up alongside Ireland and Tonga in Group C of the 10-team tournament taking place in Australia next October and November.
