Default Kayser joins Sharks staff for Currie Cup

A host of relatively unknown youngsters along with a few Sharks regulars turned out in a large squad that returned to training on Monday as the coastal franchise begin intensive preparations for their encounter with the British and Irish Lions at the Absa Stadium next Wednesday.

There was also a new face among the coaching staff, that of former Sharks and Springbok back Deon Kayser, who it was confirmed will take on the role of skills coach for the upcoming Currie Cup.

Last year the role was successfully fulfilled by Sean Everitt with the intent to keep on developing and "upskilling" local coaches, and it will now be an opportunity for Kayser to take on this new challenge after having been a part of the Sharks Academy coaching team for some time.
