They might have mucked it up in Brisbane, but the Sharks have another shot at history when they visit Subiaco. The Durban-based side, which won both of its matches in New Zealand, has now won two matches on a Super Rugby tour of Australia and New Zealand on six occasions.
A win in Perth would allow the class of ’09 to make it three, which would match the 2007 tournament-champion-Bulls for the best ever return by a South African side on tour. As an added incentive, a win would be just the Sharks’ sixth in Australia from 25 appearances, and just the second from their last 16 on Australian soil since 2000. One of the defeats during that sequence was on their maiden visit to Perth two years ago where Cameron Shepherd scored the only try of the contest as the Sharks, despite a booming dropped goal from halfway by Frans Steyn, lost 12-22.
