LIONS coach Eugene Eloff said yesterday after his team’s 56-18 drubbing by the Stormers at the weekend that he would step down at the end of his three-year tenure if he failed to change the team’s ailing fortunes, writes Zeena Isaacs.
But when confronted about the statement, in his weekly column, an emotional Eloff said he “did not mean it that way”.
Eloff replaced Frans Ludeke as the Lions head coach three seasons ago and declared that he had a three-year plan to turn the team into a force to be reckoned with
