The Scottish Rugby Union have confirmed they are exploring the possibility of forming a professional team in England.
Reports today claimed the SRU would push for the London-based team to play in the Magners League.
An SRU statement confirmed the idea was being considered as part of a ``wide-ranging strategic review'' of their professional teams.

A bit like London Scottish, I'm sure there are alot of Scots living in London that would love to see a pro team in their area, this would enhance rugby both in Scotland and in London as well as benefitting the Magners League.

However South Africa looked at seeting up a team within London that would consist of South African players and officials yet it would compete in the Zurich Premiership. The RFU rejected this entirely I wonder how they would react to the SRU trying to set up a side in England

London Irish is a team affiliated with trhe IRFU yet they don't play in the Magners League, they are a ZP based team, The sponsors would most likely like the new Scottish side to be a part of the "higher" profile competition.

All in all more power to them, the Magners League would love to have them.
