POLICE in two states are investigating claims of assault against two Western Force Super 14 players, on of whom is Matt Henjak, that allegedly took place earlier this year at a Darling Harbour bar.
In the latest crisis engulfing the Force, the alleged assault took place about the time a financial settlement was being finalised to make another assault complaint go away, this time involving just Henjak in South Africa.
A former employee of Rugby WA has told police he was in the vicinity of the Western Force players at the Cargo Bar after their 16-16 draw against the Waratahs on Friday, March 2. The Herald understands he claimed the alleged assault took place much later, in the early hours of Saturday, March 3. Police from NSW and Western Australia have created a joint operation to look into the allegations.
