SACKED Wallabies star Lote Tuqiri has broken his silence to speak of his anger and dismay at the Australian Rugby Union's shock decision to rip up his $5 million contract.
Bunkered down on the outskirts of Brisbane at his in-laws' home, Tuqiri said he would not be railroaded into retirement after his Wallabies career crashed following a one-hour meeting at ARU headquarters last Tuesday.
The 67-Test veteran said legal advice precluded him shedding light on any incident which may have led to the premature termination of his career as one of the Wallabies' biggest stars.
It has been reported Tuqiri breached Wallabies team conduct following an alleged indiscretion at the team's hotel in Canberra in the Test series against Italy three weeks ago.
