Haydn Pugh plays through the pain barrier for Neath
Pain no barrier for Pugh
BRAVE Haydn Pugh is facing a race against time to be fit for Neath’s crucial Principality Premiership and Swalec Cup run-in – after discovering he has been playing on with a serious facial injury.
The 20-year-old from Flint was caught in the face by a stray boot as the holders booked their place in the quarter-finals of the cup with a hard-fought 22-20 win at Division One (West) outfit Carmarthen Quins.
Pugh, who last month made his Ospreys debut in a development match against Newport Gwent Dragons, was withdrawn at half-time after the gash swelled up meaning he was unable to see out of his right eye.
