Saracens have confirmed that director of rugby Eddie Jones has left the Guinness Premiership club with immediate effect.
Jones was to be replaced by South African Brendan Venter at the end of the season, but Sarries have now sent the Australian packing.
Coaching co-ordinator Richard Graham will take charge for the rest of the campaign, despite having also confirmed that he will be leaving at the end of the season to take up a role as skills coach with the Australian national side.
Jones has already lined up a new job in Japan with Suntory, a club he worked for before the turn of the century, having been angry at Sarries axing 15 players in preparation for a possible influx of players from South Africa.
Jones said earlier this week: "Obviously, my complete focus for the rest of the English season is with Saracens.
"We have six games remaining in the Guinness Premiership and a home European quarter-final as we look to finish the season strongly in both competitions.
"I've never seen anything like it. I'm 100 per cent disappointed. I brought my family here and I wanted to build a strong club, the best in Europe.
"There's never a right time for this. The impact of culling so many of your best players has a massive effect on the club."
