RFL block Cooke move
Paul Cooke's proposed transfer from Hull FC to local rivals Hull KR has been blocked by the Rugby Football League.
The 26-year-old stand-off handed in his resignation at the KC Stadium on Monday but, after Hull threatened legal action, the RFL decided to intervene.
"We believe Paul Cooke is a registered contracted player of Hull FC," said the RFL's communications manager Craig Spence.
"We would ask that Paul Cooke and Hull FC sit down to try to resolve this matter.
"If they can't, then Paul Cooke could seek an RFL dispute tribunal hearing. The earliest this could take place is next week."
