TEST forward Willie Mason will make his much-anticipated Roosters debut as the first trophy of the season goes on the line in the VB Foundation Cup clash against Wests Tigers at the Sydney Football Stadium on Saturday night.
The Roosters, who won the inaugural trophy last year, have named a near full strength squad for the clash with Mason joining the likes of Anthony Minichiello – who makes his long-awaited return from a back injury – Braith Anasta, Mitchell Pearce and captain Craig Fitzgibbon in the line-up.
Benji Marshall, Brett Hodgson and Robbie Farah will headline a star-studded Tigers outfit, in what is their first trial match of the season.
“I think Willie will create a lot of interest,” Roosters coach Brad Fittler said of the match.
“I think he is a great coup for the club, he creates a lot of interest and he is a really dynamic player.
