Hi NZ Rugby fans,
I am from Wales and as you can imagine I am more than excited right now !
I have not missed a Welsh game since I was 9 yrs old in Cardiff , so I guess you could call me a real fan. I have watched Wales for the last 30 years with only 3 occasions that I remember to be really proud of the team performance. This beats everything to date !!
I am part of a group of 5 Welsh boys who are basically selling everything that isn't tied down to get over to Auckland to watch the world cup final (If we beat the French) a week Sunday .(Including the dog)
I need some help from you guys over there, as I have no idea of where to stay, where to book and what the chances we have of us picking up some tickets for the final.
Just like NZ, rugby is our life in Wales and missing the biggest game of my life is just not an option. I'm actually looking at flying on my wedding anniversary (wife doesnt know yet!!), just to demonstrate how important this is to me!
What I was hoping for was a little help from you guys in NZ. Our flight costs are crazy, so we would be trying to see what is the most cost effective way of staying in Auckland that you could suggest.
I was in NZ for the 2005 Lions tour and have never forgotten it. The way the people treated us during our stay was just unforgettable and the prospect of returning to that hospitality again with my team "Little old wales" in the world cup final playing the best team in the world - "the All Blacks" is nothing short of a fairy tale.
Any help/ suggestions that you could give us in ticket allocation and also accommodation etc would be greatly received.
Thanks and good luck against those Ozzies next week !!
Best Regards
Rob Newbury
