Default Welsh hit hard by World Cup exit

The Welsh missed out on a place in next year's finals following 50-26 loss at the Halton Stadium in Widnes.

"We were all looking forward to a summer Down Under - that was their goal - and it's gone now," said Devereux.

"Unfortunately for people like Lee Briers and Iestyn Harris that was probably their last game for Wales."

Wales led 16-6 at one stage but their hopes were shattered when Lebanon scored three tries in 12 second-half minutes.
