Maybe you can rather try and get those members to join here Fred? Facebook is hardly a good debate or communication tool for rugby. I think a forum like this is better.

I agree Fred, send em over. Also, I've been thinking for ages now that there needs to be a new game. Its just plain not fair...

I still play Rugby 08 actually, would definitely get a new one but don't have facebook. Good luck with it anyway. I just hope it doesn't take five years like it took for a new ufc game.

These people say they are making one called Rugby 2012 that would come out next summer, conviently just ahead of the RWC.

Well hopefully they do a good job, if they help develop FIFA 10 then that's a good sign because its probably the best football game ever, I've been hooked on it recently. The only problem with rugby games is the rules, computer gaming has come far enough to develop an engine for it though I think, its just complicated. For example, how does the referee give a penalty for not rolling away, or hands in the ruck? And can you tackle in the air at a lineout? There are all these small infringements in Rugby they have to get right, but I fear they may just sacrifice some of the rules instead. I hope this is a good game, cause then Ill never see the light of day again.

I would just hope they have updated rosters to reflect current times and put Magners, Top 14 and other tourneys in there they were missing before, with the teams that go in them. That's all it would take to get me hooked anyway.

If you don't like EA Rugby games, don't want to pay to play or simply want to challenge many human players, then you should try an online management rugby game.
The one I play is Rugbymania (RM): Rugby Mania - Online game - Manage your virtual rugby union team and it's great.
Other exists such as BlackOut Rugby.

RM is a long term and slow game but it's very rewarding to see its team improves weeks after weeks and compete to become the best in one's country.

I'm happy with the Rugby Challenge game I bought, but do hope it doesn't take 4 more years for another game to come out.
