Columbia University rugby team coming to Tobago
David Wong, President of the Trinidad and Tobago Rugby Association, stressed that there were numerous benefits to be derived from the visit of the prestigious Ivy League team, Columbus to Trinidad and Tobago. He pointed out that in addition to their achievements in rugby they have also produced civic, business and political leaders.
The Tobago rugby enthusiast believed that the visit should be of interest to the Tourism Development Authorities and other business groups.
The University teams will arrive in the country on March 1for an eleven-day visit and will play their first game in Tobago on March 4, before journeying to Trinidad to engage a Trinidad and Tobago Development team.
The national selectors will be eyeing the players to see if any were worthy of selection for the national team for the upcoming Caribbean 15s Rugby Championship in the Cayman Islands later in the year.
