With competition fierce for spots in the outside backs, Gold Coast winger Matt Petersen is hoping history doesn't repeat itself and he'll be available for the start of the NRL season.
A knee problem forced Petersen to miss the Titans' historic maiden NRL match against St George Illawarra in 2007 and this year a hip injury has caused him problems in the off-season.
Petersen, 27, will miss a trial against North Queensland in Cairns on Saturday night, with his wing spot going to robust Burleigh centre Jordan Atkins.
