Dean Richards has resigned from his position at Harlequins. His decision comes after the one-year ban given to Tom Williams for allegedly faking a blood injury in last season's Heineken Cup quarter-final against Leinster.
Apparently Williams was offered a load of things in exchange for lying about 'bloodgate' but eventually buckled under the pressure. Richards will never coach again, shameful goings on really.
From what i read somewhere he asked for the club to pay off his mortgage on his house in return for him keeping quiet.I think Richards has done a really good job at the Stoop as well.I think they may struggle this season, and have been turned into a laughing stock.
Well English Rugby has suffered especially badly this season, what with bloodgate and then all the Bath players failing drug tests. Williams was promised everything from cash to a job at the club after his playing days were over.
