St Helens full-back Paul Wellens has backed former coach Ian Millward to prove a huge success on his return to England next year.
Millward, who won two Super League titles, two Challenge Cups and a World Club Challenge in five years in charge at Saints, agreed to take over at Championship club Leigh on Tuesday.
Wellens said: "I think Ian will be excited by the challenge. When he first came into the St Helens club in 2000 he was in a difficult position following Ellery Hanley, who was so popular, but he came in and did his own thing and proved himself a good coach."
