For all the talk of improved depth of quality in the Scottish game, that run has - along with the national team's dreadful RBS 6 Nations showing and Edinburgh's ordinary efforts during the same period - shown that far too many players in Scotland are either not good enough or not willing to work hard enough to be professional players.
It was a rather world-weary Sean Lineen, the Warriors head coach, who found himself once again having to explain why a shake-up to the side, that includes dropping playmaker Dan Parks once again, had been necessary.
