Bath virtually ended Wasps’ hopes of securing qualification to next season’s Heineken Cup as they moved up to third in the Guinness Premiership but their victory was marred by another injury setback for their captain Michael Lipman, who was taken to hospital having suffered a serious neck injury.
The game had to be stopped for 12 minutes during the second half as England flanker Lipman, in only his third game back after two months out with concussion, received treatment before being taken off on a stretcher.
