They begin a series of three matches in nine days against Sale at Edgeley Park on Friday night which continues against Wasps and Harlequins next week.

With both Sale and Harlequins also in the hunt for a top-four finish, head coach Steve Meehan (pictured) admits his side are negotiating a gruelling period.

"It's tough. To finish with the Harlequins game, which could be the most difficult of all of them, is a really hard task," he said.
