New Warrington coach Tony Smith admits the Wolves may have hit a new low with their 60-8 drubbing by Harlequins but for him the disappointment is nothing compared to England's World Cup misery.
Warrington are bottom of the engage Super League table after making their worst ever start to a season and Saturday's 10-try rout at the Twickenham Stoop was a club record 10th straight defeat. But Smith, who is just two matches into his reign as Wolves head coach, said his lowest point came in Australia after England bowed out of the World Cup with a fourth successive defeat.
"Not so long ago was the lowest for me for quite some time," he said. "Saturday was nowhere near that."
He added: "But I suppose for some of the fans and some of the players, maybe it is their lowest point.
