PETE Drewett insists he always believed Exeter Chiefs would come right back into the Premiership promotion race.
His side's 15-14 win at Nottingham on Sunday saw them close to within five points of leaders Leeds with a game in hand as they bid for the one Guinness Premiership spot available.
Head coach Drewett said he never lost the faith despite seeing his side fall 13 points adrift as recently as three weeks ago.
