National Rugby League Chief Executives have agreed to a policy that will see clubs held accountable for signing players with poor behaviour records while also committing to on-going suspensions and fines for any player who brings the game into disrepute.
Player behaviour today formed a key part of today’s Chief Executive meeting on the Gold Coast.
There was a clear commitment from clubs to take responsibility for the actions of players and to use suspensions and fines regardless of the player involved or the importance of a match.
All sanctions are to be monitored by the NRL to ensure compliance and to oversee the appropriateness of any penalty.
