Default Hi everyone

Hi everyone i'm new to rugby (i watch it a bit) and was wondering if you have any advice for getting the right physic to play rugby i used to play a bit of ice hockey but my advantage in that was my speed (topping over 25mph (i used to be a speed skater before that)) so i wouldn't have any hastle on ice because they couldn't stop me at the speed i was going. However i am not a very fast runner (2 miles takes me about 19 mins) and im not very muscular but im trying to work on both of those. I'm 5ft 8" tall 19 years old and i'm not afraid to take a hit i just wana be able to give 1 to so any advice on how to get there would be great-Thanks for taking the time to read this

Hey "me125." This is a little late now, I just joined the forum, but I'd recommend doing serious weight training every other day (to give your muscles time to recover, since microtearing occurs during muscle building). Go running everyday--you don't necessarily need to be too fast if you're a forward, but you should at least be able to run for a half hour without getting too worn out.
Also, do core excercises (back and abdominals) along with lunges and shoulder rotation excercises regularly with smaller weights. These exercises won't make you buff, but they'll keep you from getting injured.
