For the past few years, when the calendar flips to April, it has become a weekly ritual to meet early in the morning to condition, but more importantly, to strengthen the team bond.
At 6:45 a.m. last Friday, 35 members of the Penn State women's rugby team showed up in the rain to sprint up and down the hills of the Bryce Jordan Center to remind them this time of year is special.
With only a few weeks left to achieve the goal of winning a national championship, the Lady Ruggers push themselves by doing something they wouldn't usually do any other time of the year.
"Rugby is a team sport, you can't move forward without you teammates," fifth-year senior Alison Worman said. "The April push solidifies belief in each other and belief in yourself."
