World Cup organisers unveil official team camps list
Quote:
PARIS, Jan 19 (Reuters) - Organisers of this year's rugby World Cup unveiled on Friday the official list of the team's camps for pool stage.
Holders England have chosen Versailles, outside Paris, while favourites New Zealand will be initially based at Marseille before moving on to nearby Aix-en-Provence.
France will use their traditional camp at Marcoussis, near Paris, Australia will stay at Montpellier, southern France, while South Africa will be based in a Paris suburb, then in Paris.
The Sep. 7-Oct. 20 tournament will be staged mostly in France with matches also in Cardiff and Edinburgh.
Under World Cup regulations, a team camp must comprise accommodation as well as sports facilities. It must be located a maximum 30 minutes away from a training ground and 45 minutes from one of the World Cup stadiums. Teams will move to the town of each fixture two days before the match.
From the quarter-finals and until they are eliminated, the teams will have to leave their camps to stay at an official hotel chosen by the organisers. There will be eight hotels for the quarter-finals -- four in Marseille, two in Paris and two in Cardiff -- and four from the semi-finals.
