New Football Manager For The Broncos
The WOW Brisbane Broncos have today announced Peter Nolan will be their new football manager.
Nolan will take over the role to be vacated by Andrew Gee when the club resumes from the Christmas-New Year break in January.
Nolan has been promoted from within the club after starting in a full-time capacity with the Broncos back in November 2001.
He began as development manager then, but had previously worked for the club as assistant coach of feeder club Toowoomba Clydesdales.
Most recently he has been overseeing the Broncos' High Performance Unit as Elite Player Development Manager, a post he has held since 2005.
"This is a just reward for Peter after the six years he has been with us," said Broncos' chief executive Bruno Cullen.
"He is widely regarded as an astute rugby league administrator, particularly in the work he has done with our elite player development in the high performance unit.
"He has always had a good eye for recruitment and the game in general, and that is what makes us so confident he will do a very good job as football manager."
Nolan has had a long career already in rugby league, first as a player and then first grade coach on Queensland's Darling Downs.
In a further move, Gee will step into the role of sponsorship manager, which was previously filled by Terry Reader.
