Shaun Edwards and his employers Wasps have suggested that he could work with Wales in a part-time coaching role.
Rumours are rife that the London club's head coach will form part of new Wales boss Warren Gatland's backroom staff.
Edwards was keen to stress that Wasps remains his number one commitment, but he and the club's director of rugby Ian McGeechan did not dismiss a Wales role.
"There's no need for an assistant coach to be full time and I think Gatland agrees with that," said Edwards.
